Biography

John CANNON and Hester/Esther PLEDGE are the grandparents of Simcock CANNON. After John CANNON died, Hester married Abraham CHILDRES. John CANNON and Hester PLEDGE had the following known children:

John CANNON b. c1688 Henrico Co., VA. m. Mary PRICE
William CANNON b. c1690 " " " m. Judith WOODSON
Joseph CANNON b. c1692 " " "
Mary CANNON b. c1694 " " " m. William EAST ?

Judith WOODSON, daughter of presumed Quaker parents (Robert WOODSON and Elizabeth FARRIS) married William CANNON. "The Cannon family must not be confounded with Kennon family, sometimes pronounced Cannon.
The parents of Judith WOODSON (Williams CANNON's wife), Robert WOODSON, b. 1634 and Elizabeth FARRIS, are presumed Quakers since their sons were documented as being Quakers. [1] "John WOODSON (John3, Robert2, John1), son of John WOODSON and Judith TARLETON, was a resident in Goochland County, VA. In 1741, John WOODSON, Gent., aged forty-six, deposed in Goochland that in 1729 he went in company with Capt. Richard COCKE, deceased, to the forks of the James River to survey some land; that he surveyed 800 acres on the south side of the South Fork, and Capt COCKE offered 400 acres thereof to his nephew, John COCKE, if he would come and live on the land. But John COCKE declined, and thereupon, at the request of Capt. COCKE, William CANNON paid the survey, and went and dwelt on the land."
The land is presumed to be in Goochland County, VA and William CANNON is also presumed to have been issued a land patent or grant about 1730.[2]

William Cannon and Judith Woodson had Elizabeth Cannon, and Elizabeth married Abraham Childers “III.” Abraham and Elizabeth (Cannon) Childers had Tabitha Childers, and Tabitha married Hezekiah Davidson. Hezekiah and Tabitha were my paternal 5X great-grandparents.

Cannon-7406 and Cannon-70 appear to represent the same person because: I would like to initiate a merge of these two profiles as to not have duplicate profiles for the same individual. The dates of birth and descendants match what information I have or close to what I have.
