In the 1900 census Alta (age 9), At School, was the daughter of William J Canter in Magisterial District 2, Graves, Kentucky. Her mother, Ophelia Andrews. had died when Alta was very young. [1]

Novella, daughter of Wm. Conter & Ophelia Andrews, died (age 40) on 10 April 1930 in Mayfield, Graves, Kentucky, United States.[6] She died of appendicitis in the family farmhouse that belonged to her father, as told by her daughter Laurene to her grand daughter Elizabeth. [7] Novella was in an obituary in Paducah, Kentucky, United States. She died (age 39) on 10 April 1930.[8]
