Biography

Elizabeth is the daughter of Josiah Cantey and Elizabeth Boswood or Susannah Vine.

Elizabeth married James Brunson.

Elizabeth passed away in 1811.

Research Notes

The birth date and mother of Elizabeth is unclear. Her father Josiah was married twice. [1] His first wife was Elizabeth Boswood. She is said to have past away at the birth of her third child, George Cantey, Elizabeth being the forth child. Those first three children were all born in the 1730's with George born on 2 Oct 1736. The second wife was Susannah Vine. Most ancestries show her marriage to Josiah being around 1740 or 1750, but clearly after 1736. All other of Susannah's children were born in the 1750's.

So, the problem arises when we see that most ancestries show Elizabeth being born to Susannah Vine Cantey in 1736. Either the date of her birth is incorrect or the mother is incorrect.

Cantey-28 and Cantey-14 are not ready to be merged because: Also married to David Brunson, but birth/death dates are different.
Cantey-76 and Cantey-14 appear to represent the same person because: same parents, death date, husband
