Biography
Erle Cantle was born on 24 January 1853 in Sydney, New South Wales. He was the son of William Cantle (1811-1866) and Mary Anne Taylor (1811-1874).[1]
Erle married Ellen Reid (1860 - 1942) on 14 December 1880 in Broughton Creek, New South Wales.[1] Their children were:
- Violet Susan Cantle (1881-1959)
- Daisy Cantle (1884-1952)
- Broughton Reid Cantle (1887-1907)
- Sydney Cantle (1890-1978).
- Cyril Auburn Cantle (1894-1988)
- Myrtle Cantle (1898-1988)
- George Erle Cantle (1900-1969)

Erle died on 27 October 1932 in Harbord, New South Wales, aged 79.[1] Erle is buried at Manly Cemetery, Manly, New South Wales.[3]
