By the way, what is the 1834 death date we have here for Aaron based on? We have the will of the 'other' Aaron (Cantrell-771) from that date, naming wife Martha and son William, also referencing other children, though not by name, but nothing (that I can see) revealing his parentage. Aaron Cantrell-771 is shown on secondary sources as the son of Isaac + Nancy (Watson), but we really could use more primary sources.
Since the two Aaron Cantrells are apparently not the same person, and the only problem was the marriage to Martha Smith, it seemed to be the most prudent choice to detach the conflicting marriage. What little evidence exists (secondary sources), points to Martha having married Aaron son of Isaac + Nancy Watson; this is now what should display. The floor is of course still open to corrections, with proper sourcing.
Much more research needs to be done before any merge can be considered with Cantrell-771. Both parents, birthdate, birthplace are all different. The only similarity appears to be the wife and date of marriage. It is entirely possible that there is an error in attributing Mary Elizabeth Smith as wife of Aaron.
Cantrell-771 & Cantrell-43 appear the same person but the mother is different. Did some research and the Guilford County had a chunk of county taken to make Rockingham County. Once mother is verified this merge would be valid.
They have different parents who are father and son to each other.
Cantrell-771 is attached to parents Isaac Cantrell and Nancy Watson.
Cantrell-43 is attached to Isaac's parents.
The has been a problem for a few years. Can we figure out which are the correct set of parents fore Aaron ?
