Charles posted a marriage bond on 23 January 1772 in Guilford, North Carolina for marriage to Sarah Morrey.[1] One assumes the marriage took place that day or within a relatively short time afterwards.
In 1790 Charles Cantril was living in Rockingham County, North Carolina (formed from Guilford in 1785). In his household were two males under age 16 and one female (wife Sarah).[2]
Have not yet located Charles on census records after 1790 until the 1830 census in Lafayette County, Missouri. Charles' wife Sarah does not appear on the census; Charles is apparently a widower. In the household are:
Guilford County formed from Orange and Rowan Counties in 1770.
Randolph County formed from Guilford County in 1778.
Rockingham County formed from Guilford County in 1785.
