Biography

Benjamin was born about 1650. His origin is unknown and the parents are not proved. He appears to have had a brother living in the area of Herring Run at the same time named John Chappell.

Capell married the widow of Thomas Parsons, Isabella. Because of that marriage he became Anthony Holland's step Father-in-Law and step grandfather of the six children by Anthony's second wife, Isabel (Parsons) Holland. Capell had no children of his own and both Richard Gott and Anthony Holland named sons after him, i.e. Capell Gott and Capell Holland. Capell duly noted his namesakes in his will. This will gives extensive information about the relatives of his wife, Isabella.
