Biography

Mary E. Capers was born about 1841 possibly in Pike County, Alabama to Gabriel Capers and Emiline Carnley. She married Thomas Davis sometime before 1880 in either Florida or Alabama.. She was found living in Parkers, Alabama and in Coon Hill, Florida (living with her father (Gabriel Capers) in 1880. I am unsure why she was listed on two separate census records for the same time period. In the 1885 Florida state census record she was found living in Santa Rosa County, Florida. No other record of her exist. She passed away sometime after 1885 and it is unknown where she may be buried. [1] [2]

Thomas and Mary had three other child that is not listed above; Norah Delihah Davis (born about 1877), Joseph Davis (born about 1881) and Perry Davis (born about 1885). Nothing more is know about these three. Norah may have been listed as "Emily" on the 1885 Florida state census records. [3] [4]
