Biography

Gian Pietro Carafa was born in Capriglia Irpina, near Avellino, Kingdom of Naples on 28 Jun 1476.[1]

He was elected pope on 23 May 1555 taking the name Paul IV.[1]

He died on 18 August 1559 (aged 83) at Rome, Papal States.[1]
