Richard was born in 1854. He passed away in 1940. Richard Henry Carden was the first child and only son of Joel and Fannie Bowles Carden. He was born in Hamiltons, Larue County, Kentucky. He was listed as a farmer in the early census' of Kentucky. About 1886, when 35 years old, he traveled with a group of relatives and neighbors to Arkansas with his family by covered wagon. Aunt Verba Carden said she remembered the wagon was horse drawn. Richard's family did not remain in Arkansas long, as he became involved in some sort of "rukus" and moved to Laclede County, Missouri near other kinfolk. Dick was married four times.
Richard seems to have been married three additional times after his second wife's death; to Artetia S Damerson who was born 20 April 1859 in Webster, Missouri.( I neglected to source his marriage to Artetia.) Fourth marriage was to Cora E Cope, 27 September 1927 ( Bk L, pg 350), and fifth to Carrie E West, 13 March 1931 (bk m, pg 036)
