WILL OF ROBERT CARDIN
In the name of God Amen, I, Robert Carden of Goochland County and the Parish of St. James Northam being sick of body but of sound and perfect sence and memory thanks to the Almighty God for the same and knowing the uncertainty of this life and that it is appointed for all men once to die do make constitute and appoint this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit:
Imprimus my will and desire is that all my lawful debts should be paid first convenient after my decease.
Item: My will and desire is tat all my estate real and personal I lend to my beloved wife Phillis during her natural life of widowhood after her marriage or decease my will and desire is that all my estate real and personal be equally divided amongst all my children share and share alike to wit: John, Molly, Larkin, Robert, James, Jesse, Leonard, Sally, Dicey, Patty, Archer to have an equal share with each other.
Lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Executors Robert Cardin, Reuben Cardin Executors to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of January one thousand seven hundred and eighty five.
