Biography

Prebendary Frederic Anstruther CARDEW, Chevalier du Legion d’ Honneur, OBE; hon. Chaplain St George’s Ch., Paris, 1907–34 and rural dean for France.

He was b. Mean Meir, Lahore, Bengal 6 Mar 1866; d. 41 Shrewsbury Ho., Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, 12 July 1942; will pr. Llundudno 17 Oct £24,277.

He was the son of Col. Sir Frederic CARDEW, KCMG, HM Governor of Sierra Leone 1894 during the ‘Hut Tax War’, by his 1st wife Clara NEWTON.
