Warren Cargill was born on March 31st, 1929 in Albany New York to Cyril Cargill and Audrey Demoranville. He had two siblings. Timothy Cargill, born around 1930, and Carol Cargill, born in 1940.
The family moved several times. First to Warwick, Kent, Rhode Island then to Fall River, Massachusetts. There Warren met and married Irene Osga in 1950. They had their first child, Stephen Cargill, in Massachusetts before moving to East Providence, Rhode Island in 1957.
The family moved several times after that from Rhode Island to Connecticut, back to Massachusetts, spent some time in Pennsylvania and St. Johnsbury, Vermont, and then moved down to Florida. Several more kids were born as they moved but even they struggle to remember who was born in which state. In birth order, the children born to Irene and Warren were Jimmy Cargill, Debbie Kambouras, Patty Hope, Janet McCann, and Warren Cargill Jr..
Family legend has it that Warren's mother, Audrey Demoranville, convinced the struggling family to move southwards to Florida saying that they would become rich if they only made it to the Sunshine State. Oranges might grow on trees but money certainly didn't after the family settled in Pinellas County, Florida.
He served honorably in the US Army, and was considered an exceptional carpenter. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree at Rhode Island College and acquired his Graduate Studies in Education/Linguistics from Temple University and the University of South Florida. He taught Industrial Arts (woodworking), Vocational Carpentry, and English as a Second Language to foreign students but struggled to maintain a job due to Paranoid Schizophrenia. His mental illness and unemployment didn't help his marriage and Irene and Warren divorced on July 25, 1980. They lived separately for the rest of their lives.
Warren died in Clearwater, Pinellas, Florida on November 10, 2008 after a period of declining health due to diabetes, mental illness, and heart problems.
He was well known in the family for being proud of his "Scottish" heritage, and loving wolves, dream-catchers, and old fashioned cowboys. He swore to his last day that he had Native American blood in him as well but unfortunately genealogy records seem to say differently. Every dog in the family felt his loss greatly as he was always sneaking them scraps from the table.
