Mass of Christian burial for Frank L. Carl of McMinnville will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church, McMinnville, with the Rev. Terry O'Connell officiating.
Rosary service will be recited at 6 p.m. today in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. The funeral home will be open for visitation until 5 p.m. today.
Mr. Carl died Sept. 2, 2001, in his home. He was 70.
He was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Park Rapids, Minn., the son of Fred and Anna Gearan (Garin) Carl. He graduated from high school in Park Rapids.
He served in the Army during the Korean War. After completing his military service, he moved to Carlton and worked as a concrete finisher for Sharp & Kerney, Portland. He later was a truck driver for Burch Concrete for more than 20 years.
He and Mary Fenlon were married June 19, 1954, in Salem.
He loved sports, especially baseball, and also enjoyed hunting and gardening. He belonged to St. James Catholic Church and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Carl of Keizer and Brian Carl of Colorado; three daughters, Kelly Carl of Carlton, Kathleen Parsons of Medford and Anna Carl of Fort Collins, Colo.; five brothers, Bernie Carl, John Carl and Fred Carl, all of McMinnville, Gerald Carl of Hubbard and Eugene Carl of Sioux Falls, Minn.; a sister, Ruth Niska of Alexandria, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Carl and Shawn Carl; a brother, Charlie; and two sisters, Dorothy Beason and Liz Delbome.
