August 5, 1870 - Buffalo Valley, Putnam County, Tennessee

William Carlen was enumerated as father-in-law of the head of household in Civil District 17, Putnam County, Tennessee for the June 7, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a farmer. He had been born May 1824 in Tennessee and was widowed. Also included in the household are head James Marrow, wife Emla N Marrow, daughter Sarah C Marrow, son Alamo Marrow, daughter Cora Dulney Marrow, son James R Marrow, son Stephen H Marrow and daughter Leola Marrow as seen in an image of the original census.[1]

W. B. Carlen was listed as the father in the Cookeville, Putnam County November 24, 1918 Tennessee Death of daughter Emily Eudora Marrow. The mother was listed as Sarah C. Holliday.[2]

William Bernard Carlen is buried at Leftwich Cemetery in Putnam County, Tennessee.[3]
