Born 1835 Little Weighton
Ann Carlill was born in 1835 in Little Weighton, the main centre of population in Rowley Parish, daughter of William Carlill a shoemaker.
Marriage 1855 Rowley
John Featherstone and Ann Carlill marry in Rowley in 1855. They are both resident in Little Weighton, the village which has over half the population of the Rowley Parish. [1]
Innkeeper 1861 Swanland
Swanland was a village notorious for many years as having an Independent Chapel and no Church and no pub. Was John's Inn a genuine Inn - a Traveller's Rest, with little or no beer-drinking by locals? [2]
