Francis Carlisle, widow Margaret, Revolutionary War Pension, W10576, SC service, Alabama Agency, Certificate 9798 for $191.32 p. a. paid from 4 Mar 1836, Act of 7 Jul 1838. Margaret Carlisle, widow of Francis Carlisle, 17 Nov 1837, Abbeville District, SC, petitioned the House of Representatives, SC, stated that her husband died in 1814, leaving petitioner with two children. [2][3]

Margaret Carlile, Benton County, Alabama, 21 Nov 1844, deposed she was born in North Carolina, in 1760, resident of Benton County, Alabama, was 84 years old, widow of Francis Carlile, Lieutenant of Militia, State of South Carolina, Revolutionary war, was wounded by a ball now in possession of her grandchild, married 17 Dec 1782, on an Island now or at the Chewhee (?) ford on the Savannah River, to Francis Carlile to evade the cost of a license, married by John Cunningham, Esq., J. P., lived in Georgia in the county opposite the Rivers; no record of marriage.

Elizabeth Thomson. Anderson District, South Carolina, 12 September, 1844 deposed that she was present at the marriage of Francis Carlile and Margaret McGill, 1780 or 1781; latter now resided in Benton County, Alabama. William Carlile, Anderson District, SC., a nephew of Francis Carlile, 1844, stated he was well acquainted with him and his wife. Susannah Cunningham, 14 April 1845. Benton County. Alabama, deposed that Margaret Carlile lived in Benton County, Alabama, on Kolaquilla Creek, two miles above White Plains with her son-in-law and daughter, Robert and Martha Foster. Martha Foster, Benton County, Alabama, wife of Robert Foster, deposed October 1845, that she was the only living child of Francis and Margaret Carlile of Abbeville District, SC; her mother died 20 May 1845; Robert Foster, on 21 Oct 1845, deposed that no other children were alive of Francis and Margaret Carlile other than his wife, Martha Foster. Robert Foster, Benton County, AL, 29 Jan 1846, sent to the Bureau of Pensions, a copy of the Certificate of Pension of Margaret Carlile, widow of Francis Carlile, who died 27 December 1814, on pension list for $191.32, from 4 Mar 1843; she died 26 May 1845.
