Letter from Mersey Docks and Harbour Co outlining the employment of Edward Carlisle:-

"Mr Edward Carlisle was employed in the Chief Engineers Department, as a Navvy, from the 27th October 1929. He was appointed Foreman Navvy on the 21st May 1956 and retired on 6th December,1963.

According to his records, he was employed in the South Docks and would have had extensive knowledge of that area."
