Biography

• David Carlisle was born about 1845^[1], probably at the family farm at Tullynamullan, Kells, Co. Antrim, Ireland. He was the son of Alexander Carlisle^[2].
• David Carlisle, a farmer from Tullynamullan, Kells, Co. Antrim married Matilda Davidson from Groggan, Co. Antrim on 9 November 1881 at Connor, Co. Antrim, Ireland^[2]. Agnes Davidson, probably Matilda's sister, was a witness.
• David and Matilda had seven children before Matilda died from a bout of measles in 1894: Lizzie Graham Carlisle, James Calisle (James and Lizzie were twins), John Carlisle, Rachel Carlisle, Alexander Carlisle, David Carlisle and Matilda Carlisle.
• David Carlisle married Elizabeth McAuley on 17 May 1895 at Antrim, Co. Antrim, Ireland^[3].
• In the 1901 Ireland census, David Carlisle was age 52, a farmer living at Tullynamullan, Kells, Co.
