Clifford was born in 1901. He was the son of Leslie Carlyle and Amy Nankivell. Clifford's birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1901 in the Bodmin district.[1]
In 1918 he was in the RAF. He joined up on 9 Jul 1918. His civilian trade was a motor mechanic. He was 4 ft 4 ¾" with a 31" chest, hazel eyes, brown hair and a dark complexion.[2]
In 1928 he travelled to Adelaide, Australia aboard the Bendigo. His stated occupation was hotel porter.[3]
Birth Registration has him as Clifford as do Royal Air Force records of 1918. Not sure where the William Thomas comes from. Searching for christening records.
