Military Service: War of 1812 and the Revolutionary War: Capt Shelby's Co., Va Troops. Cornelius Carmack applied Oct 30, 1832 in Overton Co., Tenn

Cornelius Carmack, Sr. was son of William and Jane Carmack [1]. His brother, William, submitted their father's records with his Revolutionary War Pension Application which listed the brothers and sisters as: Cornelius Carmack, b. 8 Jan 1759; William Carmack, b. 5 Jan 1761; Joseph Carmack, b. 11 Apr 1763; Jane Carmack, b. 7 June 1765; Sarah Carmack, b. Aug 1767.

Both William and Cornelius say they were born in Frederick Co., MD; but lived in Montgomery Co. (now Washington Co), Virginia at the time of enlistment. Cornelius Carmack applied Oct 30, 1832 in Overton Co., Tenn and his brother, Wm Carmack, applied Oct 15, 1832 in Lee Co., VA.
