Elizabeth (Betsy) has picked up the first name Mary in Ancestry and other online trees. In older genealogies she is never referred to by that name. I neither see nor know of any sources or records where she is referred to as Mary. I think that Mary should be removed as her Proper Name until the time that someone can provide an applicable source of some kind.
I just checked everything I have and I just have Elizabeth Carman or Elizabeth "Betsy" Carman. I see that the marriage record ( source 3) is for the marriage of her daughter Mary to John Ashbaugh. This marriage record also names the father William. I suspect that someone did not read this carefully and just threw "Mary" in front of Elizabeth. I would remove it.
I don't know if you are familiar with the DAR GRS but the Genealogists have approved the the name of Mary Larue who married Joseph Carman as a child of Isaac Larue. See above source note. There are over 300 pages of documents in the DAR GRS for Isaac Larue, Ancestor # A066874.
Carman-1913 and Carman-1169 appear to represent the same person because: Same name and dates. Both married to William Logsdon. Carman-1169 has better sources.
