Biography

Elizabeth Parsons was born about 1665. "Sarah Parsons who was born Nov. 14, 1702, a daughter of John Parsons and his wife Mrs. Elizabeth (Carman) Forman (Cape May County Court recs.). The latter, as Elizabeth Parsons of Cape May County, N.J., made her will... in it she mentioned her sons Jonathan Forman and Robert Parsons; her daughters Elizabeth Hand, Charity Mulford, and Abigail Stities; and her granddaughter Mary Edwards. Elizabeth was the daughter of Caleb Carman of Jamaica, L.I., and Cape May, who died in Cape May in 1693. When about 16 years old, she married Jonathan Forman as her first husband. About 1698, he removed to Philadelphia and died there within two or three years. His widow returned to Cape May, and about 1701 married (2nd) John Parsons who died there in 1732.""[1]

Abstract of will:

"1742, Oct. 16. Parsons, Elizabeth, of Cape May Co.; will of. Daughters--Elizabeth Hand, Charity Mulford, Abigail Stites, and grand-daughter Mary Edwards, to have my estate equally. Son, Jonathan Forman, and son, Robert Parsons, to have 10 shillings apiece. Son, Joshua Stites, sole executor. Witnesses--John Stites, Elijah Hughes, Cornelius Schillinks, Junior. Proved 7 March 1742-3. Lib. 5, p. 9.
"1743, May 30. Inventory, £31.16.2; made by Elijah Hughes, Robert Parsons."[2]
