Maj Gen. Alexander Carnegie was born on 25 February 1793. He was the son of Patrick Carnegie of Lour and Margaret St. Clair (Bower) Carnegy.[1]
He married Isabella Don, daughter of William Don, in September 1823. Children of Maj Gen Alexander Carnegie and Isabella Don:
He gained the rank of Major-General in the Indian Army and was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).[2]
Alexander died on 1 August 1862 at age 69 and is buried in Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh.[3][4][5]
