George Clark Carnie was born about 1889, his birth being registered that year in Fitzroy North, Victoria, the son of John Hutchinson Carnie and Jessie Cocker. [1]
In 1919, in Victoria, he married Ruby Amelia Honey. [2]
George served with the A.I.F. and saw some service in France, but he was hospitalised with a strained heart and eventually sent home. His attestation papers confirm his birthplace as North Fitzroy. [3]
Probate records show George, a War Pensioner of Rochester, passed away 28th December 1965. Probate was granted 20th June 1966. His death was registered early the next year, 1966, at Rochester, recording Melbourne as his birthplace and his parents as John Hutcheson Carnie and Jessie, her maiden name unknown to the informant.
