Morris Carnovsky is Notable.
Morris was a stage and screen actor, making his Broadway debut in 1922. He was a founding member of The Group Theatre. Morris' first film credit was the Oscar-winning The Life of Emile Zola.

In the early 50s he and his wife Phoebe Brand were blacklisted due to previously having been members of the Communist Party and being identified as communists by the HUAC. They continued acting off-Broadway and returned to Broadway and film in the late 50s and early 60s.

He taught at Brandeis University's theatre department beginning in 1966. He also authored a book, The Actor's Eye, with fellow professor Peter Sander, in 1984.[1]
