Biography
Michaelangelo Caronia is a Corleone native resident, the son of Salvatore Caronia and Pietra Gancemi. "Gancemi" (also "Cancemi") may be Pietra's name from her first marriage.
Michaelangelo marries at least twice, first to Anna Trumbatore, daughter of the late Giovanni and Filippa, on 6 February 1746. His parents have died by this time.[1]
Michaelangelo and Anna have at least one child, Gaetana (c. 1750).
Michaelangelo remarries to Anna Maria Terranova, daughter of Giuseppe and Rosa, on 18 September 1758.[2]
Michaelangelo and Anna Maria have at least two children, Calogera (c. 1770) and Lucia (c. 1782).
Gaetana marries at least three times, first to Sigismondo Sangiorgi, on 10 June 1770. This record calls Gaetana, "Caterina."[3] All of her children's marriages, and her third known marriage, in 1800, call her "Gaetana."
I estimate Calogera is twenty when she marries for the first time.
I estimate Lucia is born around 1782, twenty years before she marries.
Calogera marries at least twice, first to Nicolo’ Liggio on 7 February 1790. Her father has died by this time. This record gives her mother's surname as "Terrusa."[4]
Gaetana remarries to Francesco Cutrone, sometime between 1792 and 1799. He is mentioned as her late husband in her 1800 marriage.
Gaetana remarries to Giuseppe Luca Fratello, a widower, on 21 January 1800.[5] This record does not mention Gaetana's first husband.
Lucia marries Onofrio di Giglia on 7 November 1802. Her mother has also died by this time.[6]
Calogera remarries to Ciro Spera, who is also a widower, on 23 April 1827. Her parents have died by this time.[7]
