Claude Benjamin Harrison Carpenter was born on March 14, 1890, in Madison, Arkansas. He was the son of John Carpenter and Samantha Short.

Carpenter, head, age 45, born in AR; Samantha Carpenter, wife, age 37, born in KY; Martha A. Carpenter, daughter, age 16, born in AR; Thomas Carpenter, son, age 13, born in AR; John D. Carpenter, son, age 12, born in AR; Claud H. Carpenter, son, age 10, born in AR; Henry H. Carpenter, son, age 6, born in AR; Pearl C. Carpenter, son, no age listed (an infant?), born in AR; Lucenday L. Lewis, female, boarder, age 25, born in MO; Lizzie Lewis, boarder, female, age 4, born in MO; Colburn Lewis, boarder, male, an infant, born in AR.

1910 U.S. Census for Goodwill, Madison, Arkansas, shows the following family: John B. Carpenter, age 54, born in AR; Samantha E. Carpenter, age 46, born in KY; Claud H. Claude married Lula Pearl Best on July 16, 1916, in Muskogee, Muskogee, Oklahoma. The groom was 26; the bride was 18.

The 1920 U.S. Census for Broken Arrow, Tulsa, Oklahoma, records the following family: Claude Carpenter, head, age 29, born in AR; Pearl Carpenter, wife, age 21, born in KS; Finley B. Carpenter, son, age 2, born in OK; Eletha Carpenter, daughter, an infant, born in OK.

The 1930 U.S. Census for Bixby, Tulsa, Oklahoma, finds the following family: Claude Carpenter, head, age 40, born in AR; Lulu P. Carpenter, wife, age 32, born in KS; Finley B. Carpenter, son, age 12, born in OK; Eletha Ohio Carpenter, daugher, age 10, born in OK.

The 1940 U.S. Census for Lone Star Township, Wagoner, Oklahoma, finds Claude Carpenter as the 50-year-old head of household. he is white, married, born in Arkansas about 1890. Also listed is his wife, Lula Carpenter, age 42, born in Kansas.

Claude Benjamin Harrison Carpenter died on April 28, 1961, at the age of 71, of leukemia. He was living in Muskogee, Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the time. He is buried in Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Tulsa, Oklahoma, with his wife.
