Mary was born about 1842. She is the daughter of Samuel Carpenter and Rachel Jones. Both of her parents were from Ohio (1900 census).

She married William Rowland about 1858.

Burial 20 Jul 1908 at Freeport.^[1] William Rowland passed away in 1903 and is buried in Greenmont Cemetery, Freeport, Harrison County, Ohio ^[2] She shares a headstone with her husband at Greenmont Cemetery, Freeport, Harrison County, Ohio. ^[3]
