Biography

This biography was auto-generated by a GEDCOM import.[1] It's a rough draft and needs to be edited.

At the 1881 Census[2] he was was a Baptist clergyman, head of a household in Sackville parish consisting of:

  • Daniel, head, age 51, clergyman, Dutch descent
  • Elizabeth N, spouse, 49
  • Evangeline, dau., 22
  • Charles, son, 19, farmer's son
  • Alfred, son, 17, farmer's son
  • Wilford, 13

His death was noted in the Moncton Times (April 29 1890):[3]

Rev. D.S. Carpenter, Baptist Minister, died at Midgic, N.B. on Friday morn. He was for many years pastor at Bayside [Westmorland county]. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon at Four Corners, Sackville at 15 o'clock, Rev. D.A. Steele officiating.

Research notes

I don't really have too much information on Daniel Shaw Carpenter, other than: -He was married to Elizabeth Ann Bleakney. -He was a minister/reverend. -He had a brother by the name of Rev. Isaiah Carpenter. -He had at least one son by the name of Rev. Wilfred Emerson Carpenter

Since I don't have information on his date of birth or death, I have to go on information about his son, and make some deductions/educated guesses.

  • His son (Rev/Min Wilfred Emerson Carpenter)

was born 14 Jan 1868 in Dundas, Westmorland Co., New Brunswick, Canada. We know that most people do not have children before the age of 15. 1868-15=1853, then I'll check off "before this date", meaning that Rev Daniel Shaw Carpenter was born before 1853. How much before that is still in question.

  • From Census, YOB calculated as 1830

For the death of Rev Daniel Shaw Carpenter, I don't have any information on that, so I'll put down New Brunswick, Canada for ease of finding the profile.

Carpenter-5518 may be the same person, but I'm unsure at this time.

Carpenter-13600 may also be a relation.
