Biography

Vital dates were obtained from a Sons of the American Revolution Membership Application filled out by her son.

Other records I have found list her birth as the 29th (Sons of the American Revolution Membership Application # 83329, Applicant Edwad Dimmick Moise, descendant of Edward Dimmick)

Determined in the Supreme Court of Louisiana, Vol 107, p 403-410.

"In late 1899, the estate of Louisa and Addison was valued at $19,282.05 with no debt, and Frank, who was left 1/3 of the estate, was appointed Executor and tutor to Effie, Myrtle, Bessie, Ira, and Wille. The heirs were Frank, Malvern, Mrs. Price (Carrie Dimmick), Mrs. McDowell (Maude Dimmick), the children of Ceos (Effie, Myrtle, Bessie, Ira, and Willie), William D. Dimmick's children, Fanny and John Addison, and Stella's son, Frank Pulford. Frank Pulford's father sued. Frank had received a greater share to reimburse him for having taken care of his parents and the plantation in their old age.

Frank divided the $4, 502.15 from the crop of 1890 among the heirs, but he deducted $479.75 as expenses for making the crop as well as $1200 related to expenses as Executor, and his 1/4 share. The rest got $100 each. From the sale of property, the estate realized $2222.45. Pulford, Sr. did not get his son's share of this sale because Frank did not notify them of the sale and thus they did not come to get their share. The result was the sale of the planation; the moveable were sold on the 28 Nov 1900 for $17,050 and the immoveables ($1723.60) and lands ($774.25) were sold later. All proceeds were handed over to Frank, as the Executor. Frank bought out the interests of Mrs. McDowell, Mrs. Price, Malvern, J. A. (John Addison) and Fanny. As Exector, Frank did not always keep needed records of deposits (did not even deposit all money received into the estate) and withdrawals.

The court decreed that Frank had to pay Frank Pulford his share and interest of 20% per year on specific amounts received by the estate and 8% on other amounts and to pay court costs.

The course went to the Louisiana Supreme Court. The court awarded $3600 and interest to be paid back to Frank, as per an agreement he had made in writing with his father that he would be paid $600 a year to run the plantatiom, which he did from 1894-1899. The court costs were paid by Pulford and the others bringing the suit (the children of Ceos)."
