Her family migrated to California in 1860, and she grew up in Napa and Monterey Counties.
Mary's marriage to her sister's husband John Armstrong Patchett is steeped in the mystery of what happened in the previous marriage, as John refers to it in his will. it is known that Mary was living with John and Amanda in 1880 with their 5 children and ranch laborers.
Together John and Mary became the parents of Franklin Arthur Patchett, Olive May Patchett, Albert Passmore Patchett, Mary Esther Patchett, Irene Amy Patchett, John Moyer Patchett, Roy Carpenter Patchett, Docia Isabel Patchett, Walter Cecil Patchett, and Ulysses Arnold Patchett,
Mary Olive died on 27 February 1946 in Sonoma Co., California [1] and was buried at Annapolis Church Cemetery in Annapolis, Sonoma County, California. [2]
