The certainty of my paternal line ends with my great grandfather Sim M Carpenter. I have done much research but still lack proof I have uploaded my Ancestry DNA to Gedmatch, FamilyTreeDNA (B599855)and MyHeritage. My biological brother has taken a Y chromosome test on FamilyTreeDNA.(944039) and we have joined the Carpenter Cousin Project and can be found in Group8 (https://www.carpentercousins.com/generallineage.htm#twva) - please note that ascendancy beyond 1860Simeon remains unproven and as of this writing(Aug2021) the listing 'James R' should be 'James M'. To date my most promising leads are a link to a Maternal surname of 'Melton' (which is a middle name in my tree) and a DNA link to a large group linked to Oklahoma
