Clarence was born in 1883. He was the son of Issac Carpenter and Sara Black. He passed away about 1960. [1]

Later, my father Paul, memorized many of the poems of Robert Service and would tell them to us. My sister Paula and I can still recite "Dangerous Dan McGrew" by heart. We both love his poetry.
