Biography

Samuel was born on 1 April 1814. He was the son of Stutely Carr and Sybil (Dyer) Carr.[1]

He married Mary Ann Brownell on 25 November 1841. He graduated from Union College in 1838 and was a teacher for 30 years. He later became a stockbroker and lived with his son Allen in the early 1890s.[2]

In the 1860 census Samuel (age 45) was in Ithaca, Tompkins, New York, United States.[3] Children: Ada, Allen

In the 1870 census Samuel (age 55) was in Orange Township, Essex, New Jersey, United States.[4] He and Mary were living with married daughter Ada Fisk.

In the 1880 census Samuel (age 65), Stock Broker, was the widowed other of John W. Mott in New York City, New York County, New York, United States.[5]

In the 1900 census Samuel (age 86) was the widowed father of Allen B Carr in Rochester, Monroe, New York, United States.[6]

Parents married on 16 February 1791 in West Greenwich, Kent, Ri.[1][7]
