Biography

Esek Carr was born either in Little Compton, or Tiverton, Massachusetts Bay Colony.

He was the son of Esek Carr and Susanna, last name at birth unknown.

Esek married 3 April 1716, in Little Compton, Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay, to Mary Brownell, daughter of Thomas Brownell and Mary Pearce. Mary was born 22 March 1692, and died 31 July 1717. To this union was born a daughter, Mary Carr born July 31, 1717.

Esek married second to widow, Deborah Head, daughter of William Briggs and Mary Elizabeth Cooke. To this union was born a daughter, Deborah Carr.

Esek died 3 November 1728, intestate, and his widow, Deborah, was appointed administratrix of his estate by Judge Nathaniel Blagrove of the Bristol County Probate Court[1]

Esek's death was noted in the Will of his father, Esek Carr, on 12 November 1744:

To my granddaughter, Mary, wife of Nathaniel Potter, 40 shillings cash
To my granddaughter, Deborah Carr, daughter of my son, Esek Carr, deceased, £50 upon her 18th birthday.[2]
