Leonard Carr was born about 1771 in VA. He was the third son to move to the New Design Project of Monroe county IL. He was married there in 1798 to Mary Groots (1781-1821). He raised a large family who stayed a short time in Monroe county and move d either to St Clair county, IL , Jackson county, IL, into MO and IA. He died in 1851 in Monroe county,IL.
Besides the eight children listed they also had four unnamed children that died as infants.
