Biography

Thomas is described as "of Wadsley Bridge", a locality situated between the towns of Sheffield and Ecclesfield, and served by the latter as Parish.

He is variously stated to have been a "farmer" and "yeoman". He married (1771) Mary Bonsor, one of the daughters of Joseph Bonsor, paper-maker, of Wadsley Bridge.
