Elizabeth Carr, daughter of James and Mary (Sears) Carr was born on March 24, 1694 at Newbury, Massachusetts. [1][2][3]
She married Joseph Sargent at Newbury on on November 17, 1715. [4] Her husband Joseph was born on June 2, 1687, in Amesbury, Essex County, Massachusetts, the son of Thomas and Rachel (Barnes) Sargent. [5][3]
Elizabeth died on at Amesbury, on December 28, 1729, in her 36th year. [5][3]
Joseph married second, widow Sarah (Brown) Currier of Salisbury on April 8, 1731. [5][6][3]
He died intestate and his estate was administered by his brother John Sargent. His inventory was assessed on May 31, 1733 and valued at L1228 5s with L1208 being real estate. [7]
On March 2, 1738, Sarah Leavitt, widow of Joseph Sargent, and her husband of Ephraim Leavitt, petitioned the court, as Joseph's children were now of age asking that Sarah's third of the real estate be divided among the children, setting off to Sarah the homestead rather than breaking up the real estate among the heirs. [7]
After setting off widow Sarah Leavitt's third, the remainder was set off to the following children of Joseph on April 5, 1739:
