Epsie was born about 1803. She is understood to be the daughter of Henry Carr and Mary Downs. She married at least twice. First to a Walker. In 1846, Epsie Walker married Jonathan Gilliland. [1] In 1850 she is enumerated on the federal census in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. Mary Carr, her mother, is a member of the household. [2]
