Samuel was born in 1722. He was the son of Samuel Carr and Mary Greene. He married Damaris Carr of Jamestown in 1745. The birth records indicate their children were all born in Newport, but they were living in Jamestown at the time of 1774 census. Samuel passed away in Jamestown in 1796.
