James Carr was born on October 21, 1703 in Jamestown, Newport, Rhode Island to Edward and Hannah Carr[1]

He was one of nine children born to Edward and Hannah (Stanton) Carr, according to p. 18-19 of "The Carr Book: Sketches of the LIves of Many of the Descendants of Robert and Caleb Carr" by Arthur A.
