Margaret Carr was born in 1648 in Newport, Rhode Island, [1] the daughter of Robert Carr.[2]On April 27, 1670, she married Richard Hartshorne, son of William and Alice Hartshorne. They lived in Middletown, Monmouth, New Jersey and had at least three children.
Margaret passed away in 1718 in Middletown.
Like her husband Richard, Margaret's grave is unmarked but thought to be located in the Hartshorne Family Cemetery as evidenced by Richard's will proved May 22, 1722, to wit:
"...my will is...one half acre for a burying place to be for me and my children and their posterity to be laid out fronting the street upon a square so as to include the graveyard where my wife lies buried in, lying to the Eastward of my orchard where I now live being in the home lot formerly John Bownes.”
