Biography

Ida was born in 1898 to John Carr and Helen Lilyard in Lincoln, Nebraska.

At the University of Nebraska, Ida was a member of the Chemistry Club and Iota Sigma Pi. In 191x, she earned a Chemistry bachelor's degree. In 1922, she earned a Chemistry master's degree. Her thesis was titled "The relation of certain blood constituents to a deficient diet in chickens." Her advisor was Theos Thompson.

In 1929, Ida married Walter Blore in Linwood, Kansas. They had at least two children.

Ida Carr Will Be Married
Attractive Wedding to Take Place Sunday at Linwood.

An attractive out-of-town wedding will take place this afternoon at 6 o'clock when Miss Ida Carr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Carr will be married to Walter Blore, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Blore at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Burnett at Linwood, Kas. Rev. E. Ray Farwell will perform tne ceremony in the presence of a few intimate friends and relatives.

Miss Carr will wear a white satin gown made in a bouffant style with a cap-shaped veil, er shower bouquet will be of white roses and lilies of the valley. Her only attendant, Miss Lois Burnett, will be gowned in orchid georgette made in the same fashion. Richard Blore, brother of the groom, will be best man. [remainder not transcribed]

Technicians Pick Mrs. Ida Blore as Organization Head

At their annual meeting held Tuesday evening in the club rooms of the Lancaster Medical association, Sharp building, members of the Lancaster County Technicians elect­ed the following officers: Mrs. Ida Blore, president; Miss Florence Guloff, vice president, and Gertrude Ebers, secretary-treasurer.

A general business session of the club was conducted and the committees for the ensuing year were appointed. The committees include: membership Elizabeth Pitsch. who is retiring president, and publicity, Mrs. Jean Preslow. The next meeting for the club has been set for the second Tuesday in January.

Mrs. Ida Carr Blore will address Iota Sigma Pi, national chemical sorority at its meeting Wednesday at 7:30 o’clock in the animal pathology building on the agricultural college campus. All women chemistry students interested in the topic are invited to attend the meeting.
