Biography

Olympia Carrabs has Italian Roots.

Olympia Carrabs was born April 23, 1920 in Haverhill, Massachusetts to Giuseppe Carrabs and Clementina Forgione. She was one of the first Carrabs children to be born in America. Of the children, only Jenny (Giovanna) was born in the family's ancestral town of Gesualdo, Italy. She also shared the name of a sister who died very young.

In the 1940s she married Marco Ferraiolo and had one son.

She was a great cook and would make all sorts of treats for her grandchildren and anyone who visited the house. Anyone and everyone was always welcome.

She passed away February 27th, 2002.

Obituary:

Olympia A. "Ollie" Ferraiolo,81 of Haverhill died at Merrimack Valley Hospital. Mrs. Ferraiolo was a supervisor at At&T where she worked for 25 years until she retired in 1982. A lifelong Haverhill resident, she graduated from Haverhill High School in 1938. She was a member of All Saints Church. She was also a member of the Pioneers of At&T. The widow of Marco Ferraiolo she leaves a son and daughter - in - law Dr. James and Diane of Salem,NH ;sisters Eleanor Vaillancourt and Louise Villanucci both of Haverhill;two grandsons;nieces and nephews. Her funeral was in All Saints Church.Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Arrangements were by Scatamacchia Funeral Home.
