Julien Carier was born 13 May 1786 and baptized the next day in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli parish in L'Islet, Province de Québec. He was the son of Augustin Magloire Carrier and his wife [[Vaillancourt-311|Madeleine Élisabeth Vaillancourt. Godparents at Julien's baptism were Laurent Carron and Marie Magdelaine Leclerc; neither sponsor signed the register.
At age 23 Julien married Marguerite Vallée on 14 Aug 1809 in Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue parish in Baie-du-Febvre, Bas-Canada. There were 13 known children born into this marriage.
Julien Carrier, a painter, died at age 72 on 24 Dec 1855 in Baie-du-Febvre, Canada East; he was buried two days later on 26 Dec 1855 in Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue parish cemetery in Baie-du-Febvre.
