In 1880 he was living with his wife and all of his children from Emma to David in Limestone, Clarion, PA.[5] Twenty years later, in 1900, only he, his wife, his daughter Nancy, and his son Carl remained living together in a household.[6]
David, a lumberman, died of organic disease of the heart with dropsy on 3 Aug 1912 in Clarion Borough, Clarion, Pennsylvania. The informant on the Death Certificate was Nan M. Carrier.[1] He was buried at Carrier Cemetery in Summerville, Jefferson, PA.[7]

Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Given John A. Carrier was born 1 year after the 1880 census, which is where I had gotten my list of children for Carrier-1125 from, and given John is listed as the b-i-l for the head of household in 1900, which is Carrier-817's husband, I'm willing to say they are related. It's not John's fault he was born after the census and I'm willing to give this long-dead man the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his ancestry.
