Dear and well beloved Brother I feel the sympathy flowing from my breast to you as warm as the Blood in my oan being Brother I am compeld to communicate to you by the sable curtens of my pin, that I have just seen the most trying thing that -even - came my way and that was to lay one of our dear sister in the cold and silent- tumb, And it is Sarah Alx she was confined on the 28 and on the morning of the 29th she was delivard and brought forth a fine Daughter and in twelve hours she died suffering the most- exerusiating pain ____t ever mortal suford I went to scool ____ the morning of the 29 and never knew untill I was sent for to go and see her die and I came home as soon as I's able and me and Octavia went Doct was there and we went but befor we got there she had been dead ____ two hours O, B, I was struck to the heart I had not herd her groan now was not thare to here hear her diing words but like a lamb I submited __ __ when I herd her dying words and humbaly said the Lord will be done she faced death like a Brave soaldier When she was agonising in death she ask them thare opinion a hour- her Martial told her that it was doubtful and then she ask Brother his opinion a hour- her and he told her that she would die but she pursuaded him to tell her the truth befor he did tell her she would die, and then she told them not fear(ease) after her But never forget her and then she could martials children to her and give them dying admonition, And told them she was not afeared to die and told Brother to sing and pray for her once more and he sang the 6 him of the first Book and Red the 5th Chapter in Corinthiens and Brother says the Remain in her right mind until the last.
She has left a fine daughter it is the handsomest Baby that I ever saw And O.C.C. has taken it as her a dopted daghter she brought home this eavning. Sarah in giving it the parting blesing said to it you will be raised like me, and Martial said to her that he would Caul it for her and she said doso Brother I am now under the sounds of its cryes poor little thing O dear Brother while I am writing I dampen my paper all most withe tears And to day when I seen those that attended her buriel lifting her long train in the cofin teers like rivers flowed from _oath my streaming eyes and no one But us thre of her Blood kin was thare And her husband We Bueried her by the new presbyterian Ch that we have raised since we have Been vist here And Brother in the midst of my truble those pracious truths rushed in my mind Blesed are they whoo die in the Lord And thanks to god who givs us the victory And those Bodies shall be raised up undefild and she had fill up her cup of suffering and god cald her up higher and again she said she wanted to meat us all in Heaven that happy place whare he wnvales his Lovley Face, O.B. The rest is all well I am not well myself But I think it is on account of my minde Being in a deranged state I am still going to scool and expect to go all year if I live Brother that last foe death has been a drod in our land Brother overseear died a bout two weeaks ago and Sarah night / befor last that is a nuff to teach us that death is serting and life unsirten and a nauther place it sys that the Old must and the young may die And permit yours youngest Brother to exort you to this one thing nadful Be ye allso ready that is if you have not hope fall at the Cros of Christ and beg for Bleeding mercy. Brother you may be the next of our famley that will be cauld of and it may be I And let us strive to meat our God in peace And then I hope we will meat our Frathers and mothers and Sarah and try and hold out faithful untill the end, and if you do you shall inherit eternal lfe and caoen at that word Eternal Brother I want you to write to me and tell me if you have relize dear Brother I will have to close I have not receaved an answer to the last letter that I wrote you O. B. ans this letter and console me some send matilda word as soon as you git this I want you to forgive my bad writing and bad spelling for I am nervcous and my minde is so derainged that I cant spell Take life helth and frends and all this worlde can giveme Jesus And we no god is Right for cant do long so I close your youngest B Andrew N.
