NOTES:

Jane died after 1811. She appears, under her own name (as a widow) in Early Kentucky Landholders compiled by James F. Sutherland, page 169, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, owning 100 acres on Hawkins Branch from 27 June 1787 until 31 May 1799, then owning 90 acres on Dix River until 12 Aug 1806, and finally 90 acres on Logan's Creek in 1811. She also appeared in the Lincoln County, Kentucky Tax List for the year 1800, as well as the 1810 US Census for Lincoln County, Kentucky. She was recorded in 1810 as the head of a household of one female between 26 & 45 years of age and one female over 45.

Other researchers have listed the following children; but, I can only find documentation for daughter, Lynney: Mary Ann, b. 1775; Sarah, b. 1778 d. 1840 or 1860; Liney, b. 1779; Molly, b. 1780; Elizabeth, b. 1781; and Joseph W

Addition by Lyn McDaniel, Feb. 2016: William Carroll's will, written Dec 23, 1758 and probated June 5, 1759 in Frederick Co., VA (will book II) directs that 176 acres of his land on Smith's Creek be sold to benefit his "youngest daughters" Catherine and Jane. She married Adam Jackman of Shenandoah Co. Va. and moved to Lincoln County (later Ky.) Jackman died in 1781 and Jane was named, administrators of his estate. Their children are listed in the book "Lincoln County, Kentucky" as John Jackman, Sally Jackman, Malinda Jackman, Betsy Jackman and Polly Jackman. Sally named one of their children Carroll.
