Biography

Born 1901 in Schuyler, Missouri, USA.

Ada is born to the farmer William Thomas Carroll and his wife Melcena.

15 Apr 1910 8-year-old Ada is listed with her parents and four siblings living on a farm in Independence Township, Schuyler, Missouri.^[1]

Ada's mother dies from influenza on 31 May 1928. Probably around this time or even a bit before, her father is hospitalized in the mental health facility Fulton State Hospital due to senility.

28 July 1928 At the age of 27 Ada marries the 18-year-old Paul Rodgers in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa.^[3]

Their frist child Donna is born a year later on 24 Sep 1929 in Janesville, Wisconsin.

19 Apr 1930 The young family is listed now on a farm in Miller Township, Scotland County, Missouri.^[4] I believe them to rent their home from Ada's sister Sadie, whose family is listed right underneath them. Paul might have been working on the farm for Sadie's husband Ora, since he is listed as farm laborer and not farmer.

During the 1930ies Ada and Paul have two more children: Laverne (*1931) and Donald (*1935). After 1935 they move to Downing City of Fabius Township, Schuyler, Missouri where Paul opens his own business as a truck line owner.

Ada's father dies from myocarditis on 29 Mar 1937 at the State Hospital in Fulton, Missouri.

9 Apr 1940 Ada, her husband and their three children are listed renting a home in Downing City, Fabius, Schuyler, Missouri.^[5]

Ada and Paul have one more daughter together. Her name is Carroll, but I could not find a birthdate yet.

Ada's husband Paul dies young when he is only 44 years old. He is buried at the Seligman Cemetery in Seligman, Barry County, Missouri.^[6]

Died Jan 1975 in Great Bend, Barton County, Kansas, USA.^[7]
